 Cristian Rodriguez et Porto auront posé bien des problèmes à Manchester dans son antre d'Old Trafford (DPPI) Auteur d’une prestation de haut niveau à Old Trafford, Porto a décroché un nul intéressant face à Manchester United (2-2). Ces derniers parvenaient toutefois à solliciter Helton, par l’intermédiaire de Cristiano Ronaldo dont la tête croisée - en réception d’un centre de O’Shea - obligeait le portier brésilien à s’étendre de tout son long pour repousser en corner (14e). Finalement, Manchester allait se retrouver relancé contre toute attente en raison d’une bévue de Bruno Alves, ne voyant pas Rooney dans son dos au moment d’adresser une passe vers son portier. L’international anglais ne manquait pas l’offrande et égalisait (1-1, 15e). Porto n’en était pas pour autant déstabilisé : Rodriguez (18e), Meireles (28e) et Hulk (30e) maintenaient la menace sur les cages de Van der Sar. Manchester craque sur la fin Après un festival de passes manqués avant le repos, Manchester s’attelait à régler la mire en seconde période. Une précision retrouvée qui permettait aux Red Devils d’entrer enfin dans ce quart de finale. Pour autant, la domination des locaux n’était que territoriale car, une fois les vingt derniers mètres portugais atteints, Cissokho et consorts dominaient le jeu aérien et multipliaient les interceptions. Toutefois, sur des frappes hors surface, Park (51e) et Rooney (59e) incitaient Helton à faire preuve de vigilance. Tout comme Vidic, auteur d’un coup de tête puissant sur corner (61e). De son côté, le FC Porto relâchait son étreinte sur la défense mancunienne et semblait se concentrer principalement sur la défense de ce score, favorable pour eux en raison de la règle du but à l’extérieur. Même si Lisandro Lopez venait rappeler à Old Trafford le danger des contres de Porto en obligeant Van der Sar à plonger pour sauver les siens (68e). Dès lors, les effets du match disputé contre Aston Villa 48 heures plus tôt se faisaient ressentir dans les jambes anglaises. Mais, entré en fin de match, Tevez était plus frais que ses équipiers. L’Argentin avait la lucidité de se faufiler au point de penalty pour reprendre victorieusement une déviation de Rooney (2-1, 85e). Coaching gagnant pour Ferguson. Mais dans un duel d’entraîneurs, Ferreira remettait les compteurs à zéro. Car Mariano Gonzalez, l’un des deux joueurs de Porto entrés à dix minutes du terme, se retrouvait seul au second poteau – suite à un centre détourné de Lucho - pour s’en aller crucifier Van der Sar (89e, 2-2). Un but qui illustre mieux la séduisante prestation du FC Porto sur les terres de Manchester. Et qui le place en ballotage favorable avant le match retour au Stade du Dragon. Le tenant du titre est en grand danger. |
